On May 22nd, Mt Nyiragongo in Congo erupted- covering 17 villages and destroying 1,000-2,500 homes, causing earthquakes throughout the area and bordering country Rwanda and killing 36 people. Many people are trying to evacuate the area, but the increased travel and rumors of a second eruption are causing bus ticket prices to rise and an increase of panic and slowing that down.
A friend of mine lives 20ish miles away in Rwanda, and is helping get funds to people in Congo to help with their evacuation costs.
I want to help get people involved in this. I'm offering a few of my favorite photos from Africa I shot while living in Rwanda (all 11x14 size) and donating all proceeds from these print sales.
If you would rather donate directly to her and forgo the print, please contact me by direct message on Instagram!
